4th Optometry Conference of Central and Southeastern Europe successfully held in Pula in cooperation with the European Academy of Optometry and Optics
The 4th Optometry Conference of Central and Southeastern Europe – OCCSEE 2018 and the 10th Annual Conference of European Academy of Optometry and Optics were jointly held from May 11 to May 13 of this year, with exceptional success.
The conference, which the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica has for the first time organized in cooperation with the European Academy of Optometry and Optics, brought together more than 500 participants from 30 European countries, Asia and the United States of America at the Park Plaza Histria hotel in Pula.
During three days of the conference, a series of workshops was held, as well as a large number of interesting presentations by eminent local and foreign experts in the field of optometry, while approximately 50 poster presentations were exhibited. Round table with participants from a dozen European countries was likewise held as part of the conference.
Invited speakers at the conference were:
– Lluïsa Quevedo Junyent, OD, Psychologist, PhD (Spain)
– Nicola Logan BSc Med, PhD MCOptom (United Kingdom)
– Thomas F. Freddo, PhD, member of the American Academy of Optometry (USA)
– Mile Brujic, optometrist, member of the American Academy of Optometry (USA)
It is worth reminding that the conference was opened on Friday May 11, 2018. In addition to the president of OCCSEE Alen Stranjik and the president of European Academy of Optometry and Optics Eduardo Teixeira, the Conference was opened by the president of the European Council of Optometry and Optics Peter Gumpelmayer.

The participants had fun together even beyond lecture halls, exchanging experiences and ideas. At the Conference dinner, prizes were awarded to the winners of the prize draw game, as has become a tradition of our optometry conference.
